The KFA2 GeForce GTX 1070 / 1080 EX OC SNPR is equipped with advanced RGB lighting effects back plate. Due to the extra thickness of the RGB back plate, the graphics card might not be compatible with some of the motherboard’s 1st PCI-E slot.
The MSI X99A GODLIKE GAMING, for example, has a thick I/O armor near the 1st PCI-E slot and it interferences with the graphics card:
The scenario above might occur with some motherboards (mainly with X99 chipset), but our graphics cards are compatible with most of motherboards on the market. We have confirmed that the MSI X99A GODLIKE GAMING, ASUS RAMPAGE V EXTREME/U3.1 and the ASRock Z170 OC FORMULA are not compatible with our graphics card, when installing the card on the 1st PCI-E slot. In such cases, it is suggested to install the graphics card on the 2nd PCI-E slot.
To ensure compatibility, make sure the space between the edge of the PCI-E slot and RAM slot (or I/O armor heatsink) in your motherboard is no less than 4mm.
